Cooking has always been close to my heart; as a child, I often cooked dinner for my family or spent the afternoon experimenting with new recipes. Following college, I went West and wrangled the artichokes: for eleven years, I cooked organic vegetarian meals for thousands of guests at a yoga retreat center. I published two books, a vegetarian cookbook and a food-themed children's book.
I'm also a high school culinary arts teacher. I love to bring healthy foods and useful cooking skills to my students. I hold a BA in English and a Master's degree in Education.
I've never met a chocolate chip cookie I didn't like. And I learned early that when you make your own cookies, you get to eat them, too.
